A productive Autumn...

This Autumn I have had the opportunity not only to revisit some of my favourite parts of Switzerland and France but also to do two trips with the foremost photographic tour organiser, Light & Land.
In November, I spent an enjoyable week with a number of other large format enthusiasts under the expert guidance of Light & Land leaders, Joe Cornish and David Ward. We were based at the comfortable Bridge Hotel in Buttermere, Cumbria where the food was every bit as good as the well-appointed accommodation. I followed this almost immediately by another week spent exploring the wilds of Argyll, again with David Ward but this time the trip was co-led by Richard Childs. Richard lives near Oban and knows the area intimately, having made many wonderful large-format photographs there. Needless to say, I now have a deeper understanding of this little-visited part of Scotland. Between the two organised holidays I spent a weekend exploring Arran - an island new to me but to which I will certainly return.
